Looking to get started selling on CDON? This guide contains the steps detailing how to configure your CDON integration, how to get your products ready to go live, and how to test your order set-up.
Before proceeding, you need to make the connection between Sello and CDON if you have not done so already, you'll find instructions in this guide.
Getting your products ready
To go live on CDON, you need to make sure your products meet CDON's standards.
What do I need to add?
CDON requires categories, prices, descriptions, EAN, manufacturer's article number and images, but there are not a lot of other mandatory attributes. However there many optional attributes to choose from that can increase your visibility on their platform!
What can I add?
You can add all of the information that is visible on the CDON tab on the detail page of your products in Sello. All mandatory information will be marked red until it has been added.
How do I add the information?
You can enrich your products either one by one, in bulk, with quick edit or with excel.
CDON's basic product requirements
Below you will find a list of CDON's basic requirements.
Categories
Categories are mandatory on CDON, and you can add them either directly on the product or with excel. If you are going to add the categories with excel, you can find all valid categories here.
Attributes
CDON does not have a lot of mandatory attributes, but there are multiple optional attributes that are good to add for visibility on their platform. You can find all optional attributes on the detail page when you edit the products, and we have included a few of the attributes that are good to add below:
- EAN / GTIN
- Manufacturer's article number
- Brand
- Color
- Size
Description
You need to add a description and title to each product in the language of the country you are connected to, you can do this in the Description section while editing the product, or with excel. If you are unsure what to add to the description or title, you will need to contact CDON so that they can guide you.
Prices
You can add prices directly to the products in the Price section while editing a product, or with excel. When adding prices for CDON you are able to add them in the Price field and Regular price field. The Price always needs to be lower than Regular price.
Keep in mind that CDON has automatic pricing for the Regular price field, this means that the Regular price you add in Sello may not always be used by CDON in their listings.
Shipping
You can specify the carrier and delivery method on the Shipping page when editing the product, or update it with excel. Keep in mind that CDON only offers free shipping!
Delivery time
The delivery time you choose will be visible to customers who buy your products on CDON, and will also determine the deadline you receive on orders.
You can select a general delivery time in your CDON settings, that will be applied to all products that do not have their own unique delivery time, by following the below steps:
- Go to your Settings in the top right corner
- Go to Channels
- Click on Settings under CDON
- Select a minimum and maximum delivery time
- Done! These Delivery times will be applied to all products that do not have a Unique delivery time the next time they are sent to CDON.
Keep in mind that once the changes have been made to the channel, they will take a while to go through and be visible on CDON, so change them ahead of time if possible!
To set a Unique delivery time for a product, follow the below steps:
- Click on Edit to the right of the product
- Go to My item
- Set a Default or country specific delivery time, with the minimum amount of days to the left and maximum amount of days to the right
- Done! This product now has Unique delivery time settings
Activating products
To make Sello push a product to CDON, it needs to be activated for the CDON country you are connected to. If you are connected to multiple countries, you need to activate the product for each country you are going to sell it on.
You can activate the product by clicking on Edit and going to the General tab, then click on the country you wish to activate the product on.
It is also possible to activate multiple products with excel, you can read more about different ways to activate products here.
Errors and statuses for CDON
When your products are active and you have filled in all mandatory fields in Sello, the product will be sent to CDON, where CDON will validate each product both automatically and manually.
All error messages from CDON's automatic validation will be visible in Sello with red highlights.
I'm live, now what?
When the products have been accepted by CDON with no errors, you will officially go live, congratulations! 🎉
If there are still products in your inventory that have not gone live you can keep working on enriching them as usual, and follow the previous steps to push brand new products live as well.
