In this guide, we will show you how to create grouped products using Excel.
If you are interested in learning more about groups or wish to create a group from existing products on your account, read more here
Requirements
You will need to make an Excel file that contains the below columns:
- Sku - Your internal product ID
- Group sku - The Sku you have chosen to act as the main-variant
- Group type - The property that differentiates the variants in the group
The Sku needs to be unique for each variant, but the Group sku has to be the same for every variant that you wish to be in the same group.
There are 3 different Group types that you can choose for a group:
- color
- model
- size
Below are examples that show how a file importing each Group type can look:
Color
Model
Size
When the Excel file is finished you are ready to import it! For more information
on how to import the file to create the products, see here
Good to know:
- The Group type can not be changed with Excel once the group has been created
- You can not use Excel to group existing products
- The property that you choose as the Group type has to be unique for each variant, if the type is color each variant needs a unique color
