How to delete products

In this guide, we will show you how to remove products from Sello's inventory.

If you want to stop selling a product you can delete it from your inventory. Sello will also make sure that the product will be removed from any sales channels it might have been connected to.

There are three ways of doing this, the first method enables you to do this in bulk while the second has you doing it one-by-one. The third option deletes products with Excel, we will go through all of these methods below. 

Deleting in bulk

If you wish to delete multiple products directly from the inventory, doing it in bulk is a great option.

Follow the below steps to delete products in bulk:

  1. Log into Sello
  2. Go to: Inventory
  3. Find and select your products
  4. Click: Actions
  5. Click: Delete
  6. A warning will be displayed, read it thoroughly
  7. Click Delete

Deleting one-by-one

When you only wish to delete one product, you can do it one-by-one.

Follow the below steps to delete products one-by-one:

  1. Log into Sello
  2. Go to: Inventory
  3. Find your product
  4. Click the button to the right of the "Edit" -button
  5. Click: Delete
  6. A warning will be displayed, read it thoroughly
  7. Click Delete

Deleting with Excel

If you have a large amount of products you wish to delete at once, Excel is a great option.

To delete products with Excel, you need to move them to the folder for the Trash bin. This is a specific folder on your Sello account that can only be viewed when you click on Actions, and products in this folder will not be visible when you search for them outside of the Trash bin.

To delete products with Excel, follow the below steps:

  1. Create an Excel file containing all of your Article numbers, or SKU. You can read more about Excel imports here.
  2. Add a column with the name: Folder id
  3. Fill the cells in the Folder id column with: 999998
  4. Import the Excel file.
  5. Done! The products will disappear within a few minutes.

Good to know:

  • It might take over an hour to remove the product from any connected sales channels.
  • Keep in mind that deleting, grouping, and copying products will be disabled for sellers using an external system as their main platform.
