In this guide, we will show you to work with our different image tools in Sello.
Images are an important part of every product, and knowing how to add, remove and update them is key for optimization!
There are a lot of different ways to add and edit images to products in Sello, we will go through them below.
Manually
To upload images manually you have to open the product, then navigate to the Images section.
Once in the Images section, you can simply drag and drop your file from your local storage to the image windows. You can also click one of the empty slots to browse your files in order to find an image to upload.
If you hover over an image you can rotate it, clicking the heart -icon on an image will make it the product's default main image. There is also an "x" -icon, if pressed, the image will be removed.
In bulk
To add images in bulk, you have to start by selecting all of the products whose images you wish to add or update. Once selected, click on Actions and Edit.
Navigate to the Images section, then drag and drop your file from your local storage to the image windows or click one of the empty slots to browse your files in order to find an image to upload.
When the images have been added, you can choose if you want the new images to completely replace the old images, this will remove the old images on all products.
Or you can choose to only add the images, this is done by toggling off the setting under Image settings.
Save to variants
When you have added images to a product that is in a group with multiple variants, you get the option to save your changes to the variants in the group. To pick this option, click on the arrow to the right of the Save button.
Keep in mind that this will add the images to all variants of that group that are currently visible in the inventory, this means that if you have searched for only one of the products in that group, only that variant will receive the update.
But if you have searched for all variants with a specific color in that group, only the variants with that color will receive the update.
With excel
If you need to add a lot of images to a lot of different products at once, we recommend importing them with excel. To import images with excel, you firstly need a file containing all of the products in a valid identifier column, you can read more about how to import with excel here.
The next step is to add a column for the images. The name can be one of the below:
-
Images
This column is used when you wish to add new images to a product, while replacing all previous images with the new ones.
This is great if you have updated all images for a product and do not need the old images anymore. -
Images #12345
This column is used when you wish to add new images to a specific marketplace for a product, while keeping the old images that the product currently has for the other marketplaces.
The number in the name is the Integration ID for the marketplace, you can find the Integration ID here.
Once the name has been set, you add all of your image URL:s to the Images column in the file, separating each URL with a comma if there are more images than one. An example of how the file might look can be found below.
Id | Images | Images #12345 |
120172451 | https://images.sello.io/products/acc/8346/test/1.jpg, https://images.sello.io/products/acc/8346/test/2.jpg | https://images.sello.io/products/acc/8346/test/1.jpg, https://images.sello.io/products/acc/8346/test/2.jpg |
How do I set an image type?
Some marketplaces require you to set an image type, which specifies what type of image it is, such as if it is a packshot or model image. You can select the image type in Sello manually or with excel.
Manually adding image type
To manually add or edit an image type, you follow the below steps:
- Click on Edit to open the product
- Go to the Images tab
- Click on the menu in the top right of the image you wish to add the image type to
- Select which image type to add
- Click on Save
- Done! The image type is now added to the image
Adding image type with excel
To add the image type with excel, you follow the same steps as adding images with excel in the Adding images section above to create a file containing all products and their image URL:s.
Once the file is created, you add the image type after the URL in square brackets, we will show below an example of how this can look in the file.
Id | Images |
120172451 | https://images.sello.io/products/acc/8346/test/1.jpg[packshot], https://images.sello.io/products/acc/8346/test/2.jpg[model] |
Keep in mind that the image type that you add in the square brackets needs to be one of our existing image types, these are the possible options to choose from:
- [detail]
- [environment]
- [model]
- [packshot]
- [swatch]
