In this guide, we will show you how to configure our ChannelConnector module for Prestashop.
For a guide on how to install the module, click here.
Before you can start using the module, there are several things that will need to be looked at. These include mapping your own categories to those of the marketplaces and synchronizing channels and properties. Below is a basic walkthrough.
Products
This section contains all your products, you control which products are put up for sale, and on what channels here.
There are two ways of editing products here.
You can edit the products in the standard view, your only option when editing in this view is activating and deactivating products. This is done by clicking the red crosses / green checkmarks in the "Active" -columns.
Or you can use the Bulk-edit feature.
This is how:
- Log into Prestashop back-office.
- Go to: "Modules" -> "Module Manager".
- Find: "ChannelConnector".
- Click: "Configure".
- Find the "Products" -tab.
- At the bottom of the list, click: "Bulk edit".
This will enable you to edit all visible fields in the list of products, these include price, shipping, and whether or not the product is active on each connected channel.
When you have made your changes, click: "Save".
Carriers
When you receive an order from a marketplace and subsequently deliver it, Sello will report information on shipping such as tracking ID and carrier back to the place of purchase. For this to be possible, you need to make the connection between the carrier in your webshop and the carrier in Sello.
Here's how:
- Log into Prestashop back-office.
- Go to: "Modules" -> "Module Manager".
- Find: "ChannelConnector".
- Click: "Configure".
- Find the "Carriers" -tab.
- Select your carrier in the "Prestashop" -list.
- Find the corresponding carrier in the "ChannelConnector" -list.
Categories
The ChannelConnector module lets you map your own categories to the marketplace categories, this way, you won't have to set a category for each marketplace, on each product. This is done by first importing the category hierarchy for each channel you are connected to, and then finding which categories correspond to your own internal categories.
Here's how:
- Log into Prestashop back-office.
- Go to: "Modules" -> "Module Manager".
- Find: "ChannelConnector".
- Click: "Configure".
- Find the "Categories" -tab.
- Click: "Sync categories".
Next, you'll need to create a connection between the categories:
- Navigate to one of your categories.
- Find the corresponding category in the list to the right.
- Click: "Save".
Channels
When you have connected your Sello account to one or more sales channels, they need to be synchronized to Prestashop for you to be able to put your products up for sale there.
Here's how:
- Log into Prestashop back-office.
- Go to: "Modules" -> "Module Manager".
- Find: "ChannelConnector".
- Click: "Configure".
- Find the "Channels" -tab.
- Click: "Sync channels".
Remember to repeat this if you add new channels to Sello.
Messages
This section will display any messages you might have received in Sello, such as errors, etc.
Messages will sync in the background every hour, however, you can manually fetch messages at any time by clicking "Sync messages".
Properties
In order for the module to be able to communicate your product attributes and features to the marketplaces, you'll need to import the list of supported properties in Sello and map your properties to one of Sello's own.
Here's how:
- Log into Prestashop back-office.
- Go to: "Modules" -> "Module Manager".
- Find: "ChannelConnector".
- Click: "Configure".
- Find the "Properties" -tab.
- Click: "Sync properties".
Next, you'll need to create a connection between the properties:
- Find one of your properties or features.
- Click: "Select".
- Find the corresponding properties.
- Click: "Save".
Good to know:
- The first time you edit a product, it will be created in Sello.
