In this guide, we will talk about the section in the "Edit" -window called “Description”.
In this section you add texts to your product, this includes titles, descriptions, text templates and more.
You can have different texts in different languages and you can add texts in two different ways. You can add a Standard text for a language or you can add a text for a specific channel.
Sello will try and use this text on all channels if no other text is available. This means that if you add a standard text in only one language, it may be used on channels that require texts in another language.
Some channels will reject the product entirely in this case, and some will use it anyway, even though another language is preferred.
We recommend adding English texts since most channels support English. There are some exceptions of course, and this all depends on which channels you plan on selling on.
The standard text in a certain language will automatically be used on channels that need it.
This means that adding texts in a certain language as a standard text instead of a specific text is a good idea because then you don't have to add the same text multiple times for different channels that use the same language.
You can add texts for a specific channel that overrides the standard text, this is used when you want a different text to be used for a certain channel.
This is especially useful for products on Tradera.
When you create a product group and put it up for sale, you will need to set each variation apart using either the variation name field or a product property such as “size” or “color” depending on the group type chosen.
However, Tradera currently doesn’t allow either grouped products or the use of product properties, which means that the customer will have no way of telling what version of a product they are buying, like the size of a shoe or color of a watch for example.
Luckily, this can be easily remedied with a specific text, where you simply add the variation in the product title field for Tradera.
You can also add a Short description, a SEO Page title, and SEO Keywords. This is mainly used for products on webshops.
A short description can also be synchronized to Mirakl based marketplaces like vidaXL and Elkjøp. This is not mandatory, however.
Bulletpoints can be used on CDON, Allegro, and Amazon to add highlighted selling points, essentially, enhancing specific product information.
