In this guide, we will take a basic look at the feature we call Feed Connector.
The Feed Connector lets you import your product feed and map the contents to a Sello counterpart, as opposed to pre-configuring a feed and importing its content as is.
This makes it easy to tweak exactly what data to include on your products and how it is configured without having to make changes to the feed directly. This is especially useful when adapting your products to a particular sales channel's requirements.
When your feed has been read for the first time, you can start mapping the information. With Feed Connector you can map:
- Feed fields
- Attributes
- Categories
You can use the following file formats with Feed Connector:
- XML
- JSON
- Any format with delimiter-separated values (CSV, TSV, etc.)
The first step is to input your feed URL and let Sello discover its content.
Here's how:
- Log into Sello.
- Go to: "Settings" -> "Products" -> "Feed Connector".
- Select your file format under type.
- Input your feed adress in "URL".
- Click: "Add".
Sello will now start reading your feed and begin to discover its contents.
Please note:
Before you can start the information mapping, your feed needs to be manually activated. Please contact us at support@sello.io and we will activate it for you.
When your feed has been activated, you can start looking at mapping the information.
Here's how:
- Log into Sello.
- Go to: "Settings" -> "Products" -> "Feed Connector".
- Click the pen -icon.
You will now be presented with three tabs.
Fields
This section lets you map your feed's fields to a Sello counterpart, please note that unmapped fields will not be imported to Sello.
In this section, you are free to map your fields to virtually any piece of information in Sello, with the one exception being attributes that have static values (fixed values selected from a list), which need to be mapped to a suitable attribute in the Attributes -tab.
To make the attribute in question visible in the Attributes -tab, check the box called "Has static values".
If the field in question does not have static values, you can map it to any desired field in Sello.
Here's how:
- Log into Sello.
- Go to: "Settings" -> "Products" -> "Feed Connector" -> "Fields".
- Find your desired feed field.
- Click the pen -icon to the right.
- Search for a suitable field and click the result of your choice.
Attributes
This section lets you map attributes with static values to Sello attributes. When you have found a suitable attribute, you also need to map each individual value to a value in Sello.
The first step is to tell Sello that the attribute needs to be mapped using the Attribute -tab.
Here's how:
- Log into Sello.
- Go to: "Settings" -> "Products" -> "Feed Connector" -> "Fields".
- Find your attribute.
- Tick the "Has static values" -box.
Next, you need to map the attribute and its values.
Here's how:
- Go to the "Attributes" -tab.
- Find your attribute and click the pen -icon under "Mapped to".
- Search for a suitable attribute and click the result of your choice.
- Click the pen -icon to the far-right.
- Select a Sello value for each feed value.
Categories
This section lets you directly map your own categories to those of the sales channels you have connected your Sello account to.
Here's how:
- Log into Sello.
- Go to: "Settings" -> "Products" -> "Feed Connector" -> "Categories".
- Find your category and click the pen -icon to the far-right.
- Select a marketplace-specific category in the list.
