In this guide, we will take a look at working with product templates in Sello.
A product template is a pre-made text that you can select for use on individual products. Product templates are oftentimes used to input payment policies, contact info, etc on products.
Using a template enables you to display general info on your products, without having to add this info to each and every product.
In order to be able to use a product template on a product, you need to create one, read more here.
Assigning product templates to single products
When you have created a product template, you can assign it to a product.
Here's how:
- Log into Sello.
- Go to: "Inventory".
- Find your product.
- Click: "Edit".
- Go to the "Description" -tab.
- Find your Tradera integration.
- Select your template in the "Text template" -list.
- Click: "Save".
Done!
Assigning templates to multiple products using bulk-edit
You can also set a product template on multiple products using the bulk-edit feature.
Here's how:
- Log into Sello.
- Go to: "Inventory".
- Find and select your products.
- Click the "Actions" -menu in the top-right corner.
- Click: "Edit".
- Go to the "Description" -tab.
- Find your Tradera integration.
- Select your template in the "Text template" -list.
- Click: "Save".

Assigning templates to multiple products using file import
You can also select a product template for use on multiple products at a time using our Excel import feature, read more about this feature here.
Step 1.
Procure a file containing the products you wish to update, this file needs to contain one of these unique identifiers:
- Id - Sello article number
- Sku - Your internal reference
Method 1:
- Log into Sello.
- Go to: "Inventory".
- Find and select your products.
- Click the "Actions" -menu in the top-right corner.
- Click: "Export to Excel".
This will export the selected products along with all attached information, however, only the "Id" or "Sku" -column is needed, so you can remove the rest.
Method 2:
- Log into Sello.
- In the top-left menu, find "Import / export".
- Go to the "Export" section.
- Click: "Export Inventory".
- Select either "Item no" or "Sku".
- Click: "Export Inventory".
This will export all your products.
Step 2.
When you have got a file containing your product's article numbers or SKU:s, you need to add the product template column and find the template ID.
Here's how:
- Open your exported file.
- Add a new column and name it: "Tradera template".
- Log into Sello.
- Go to: "Settings" -> "Products" -> "Product templates".
- Find your template.
- Copy the ID found in the left-most column.
- Paste the ID in all cells under the "Tradera template" -column.
- Save the file and make sure it is exported using the .xlsx format.
Step 3.
When the file is done, it is time to import the file in Sello in order to update the products.
Here's how:
- Log into Sello.
- In the top-left menu, find "Import / export".
- Find "Excel" in the Import -section.
- Click: "Import".
- Choose: "Update products with my file".
- Select your file.
- Click: "Start".
Your file will now be queued for processing, you can see your estimated wait time to the right.
Done!
Good to know:
- You won't see the template contents in the editor in Sello, your template will be visible when the product has been published on Tradera.
