How to add Fyndiq-specific attributes using Excel

In this guide, we will look at enhancing your products with Fyndiq-only attributes by using an Excel import.

Adding attributes to your products can increase your exposure and will let potential buyers use filters to find your products with greater ease.

These are the Fyndiq-specific attributes you may use to increase your searchability on Fyndiq:

• Color
• Connection Type
• Hair Type
• Material
• Pattern
• Phone Case Type
• Refurb Grading
• Refurb Warranty
• Size Text
• Skin Type

Overview

To be able to Import an attribute using Excel in Sello, your spreadsheet needs to contain:

• The product(s) on which to apply the updates
• The attribute itself
• A valid attribute value

Products

The products that will receive the update can be specified using either the Sello article number or their SKU:s. Each of these has its own unique header name.

Attributes

Attributes are imported by specifying their unique IDs in the header column, starting with "Property". Once you have created a column with a valid header, you need to input values that are valid in the cells.

Adding products to the file

The first step in creating the file is to fill it with the products you plan to update.

An easy way to accomplish this is to use the Excel export feature in Sello.

Here's how:

1. Log into Sello.
2. In the top-left menu, find Import / export.
3. Go to the Export section.
4. Click: Export Inventory.
5. Select either Item no, or SKU.
6. Click: Export Inventory.

This will net you a file containing part of / your whole inventory depending on what setting you used.

Adding attribute names to the file

Next, you'll need to add an attribute column for each attribute you are planning on using, to do that, you need to find out what to name its header column.

Luckily, these attributes are all optional, which means they are visible in the Fyndiq -section in the details -tab by default, making them easy to find.

Here's how:

1. Log into Sello.
2. Go to: Inventory.
3. Find any product.
4. Click: Edit.
5. Go to the Details -tab.
6. Find and expand the Fyndiq -section.
7. Click your desired attribute.
8. Copy the Import as value.

Next up, you'll need to fill the attribute columns with valid values. If the attribute uses no static values, you are free to input whatever you like, as long as you adhere to any and all conditions such as:

• Only numerical values
• Only text-based values
• Whole numbers only (no decimals)
• Restrictions regarding length

For attributes with fixed values, each option you can choose has an internal ID which you will have to identify and input into your file.

Here's how:

1. Log into Sello.
2. Go to: Inventory.
3. Find any product.
4. Click: Edit.
5. Go to the Details -tab.
6. Find and expand the Fyndiq -section.
7. Click your desired attribute.
8. Copy your desired option in the Value -column.

Clicking the copy -icon here will add all available values to your clipboard.

By now, your file should look like this:

Importing the file

The last step is to import your file which will update the products in Sello. Make sure you export the spreadsheet as an .xlsx file.

Here's how:

1. Log into Sello.
2. In the top-left menu, find Import / export.
3. Find Excel in the Import -section.
4. Click: Import.
5. Choose: Update products with my file.
6. Select your file.
7. Click: Start.
