How to install ChannelConnector for Magento 1

In this guide, we will show you how to install our ChannelConnector extension for Magento 1.

ChannelConnector lets you integrate with all supported sales channels directly in your own webshop. This extension utilizes Sello's architecture to synchronize products between your system and marketplaces. Orders are received in Sello and sent to your system as well.

This set-up is great for sellers who are comfortable working with products and orders in their own system and wish to keep it that way.

In order to use the ChannelConnector extension for Magento 1, you'll need a Sello account.

Get one here: https://sello.io/en/register

In the registration process you'll be asked to choose a channel to sell on among other things, if you're already approved as a seller here, you'll be able to complete the connection immediately. If not, a temporary connection will be created and you can complete the set-up at a later time.

Once the registration process is complete, an account will be created. The account will be entirely free for 14 days, giving you time to complete the installation and configuration process and get your products ready, etc.

When the Sello account is taken care of, it's time to install the extension, there are two ways to go about doing this.

Either you download the extension and install it in Magento using FTP. Or you connect Magento to Magento Connect Manager and install the extension through the Magento Marketplace. 

The first step is to get the plugin from the Magento Marketplace.

Here's how:

1. Go to: https://marketplace.magento.com/selloio-sello-channelconnector.html
2. Click: "Sign In".
3. Sign in using your Magento credentials.
4. Choose version in: "Your store version".
5. Click: "Add to Cart".
6. Click the cart and then: "Proceed to Checkout".
7. Click: "Place Order".

At this point, you can choose to either download the files and install it using FTP or install it using the Magento Connect Manager.

Install using FTP

1. Click: "Download".
2. Choose the latest version.
3. Click: "Download".
4. Unzip the files you received.
5. Connect to your server using FTP.
6. Go to your Magento installation directory.
7. Upload and place the files into the "app/code/local" -directory.

Done!

Install using Connect Manager

1. Click: "Install".
2. Find the key for your version.
3. Click: "Copy".
4. Log into Magento.
5. Go to: "System" -> "Magento Connect".
6. Click: "Magento Connect Manager".
7. Log into the Magento Connect Manager.
8. Find the "Install New Extensions" -section.
9. Paste your key.
10. Click: "Install".

Done!

When the extension is installed, you'll need to connect it to Sello.

Here's how:

1. Log into Sello.
2. Go to: "Settings" -> "Developers".
3. Click the "API" -tab.
4. Click: "Create new".
5. Give the token a name.
6. Read our TOS, PP and the warning here.
7. Check the boxes to accept.
8. Click: "Create".

Copy the new API key.

Next, you'll need to paste this in Magento.

1. Log into Magento.
2. Go to the "ChannelConnector" -tab.
3. Paste the key in the "API token" -field.
