Before you can start using the extension, there are several things that will need to be looked at. These include mapping your own categories to those of the marketplaces and synchronizing channels and properties. Below is a basic walkthrough.
General
In this section, you can tweak settings such as:
- Products to sync - How many products should be included in each sync.
- Cron to sync products - Cron Job schedule.
- Default store - Which store view's product data will be used when synchronizing to Sello.
Order
In this section, you can tweak settings such as:
- Default order status.
- Default order state.
- Default order carrier.
- Default order payment method.
Channels
When you have connected your Sello account to one or more sales channels, these need to be synchronized to Magento for you to be able to put your products up for sale there.
Here's how:
- Log into Magento admin.
- Go to the "ChannelConnector" -tab.
- Click: "Channels".
- Click: "Sync channels".
Remember to repeat this if you add new channels to Sello.
Carriers
When you receive an order from a marketplace and subsequently deliver it, Sello will report information on shipping such as tracking ID and carrier back to the place of purchase. For this to be possible, you need to make the connection between the carrier in Magento and the carrier in Sello.
Here's how:
- Log into Magento admin.
- Go to the "ChannelConnector" -tab.
- Click: "Carriers".
- Click: "Sync carriers".
- Click: "Add Mapping".
- Select your carrier in the "Magento" list.
- Find the corresponding carrier in the "ChannelConnector" list.
- Click: "Save".
Categories
The ChannelConnector extension lets you map your own categories to the marketplace categories, this way, you won't have to set a category for each marketplace, on each product. This is done by first importing the category hierarchy for each channel you are connected to, and then finding which categories correspond to your own internal categories.
Here's how:
- Log into Magento admin.
- Go to the "ChannelConnector" -tab.
- Click: "Categories".
- Click: "Sync categories".
Next, you'll need to create a connection between the categories:
- Go to: "Catalog" -> "Manage Categories".
- Choose a category in the tree to the left.
- Go to the "ChannelConnector" -tab.
- Choose which marketplace category your category corresponds to.
- Click: "Save Category".
Properties
In order for the extension to be able to communicate your product attributes to the marketplaces, you'll need to import the list of supported properties in Sello and map your attributes to one of Sello's own.
Here's how:
- Log into Magento admin.
- Go to the "ChannelConnector" -tab.
- Click: "Properties".
- Click: "Sync properties".
You'll now need to find a Magento counterpart for a couple of Sello properties.
- Select an attribute that corresponds to each property in the lists.
- Click: "Save".
Next, you'll need to find the Sello counterpart for your own attributes.
- Go to: "Catalog" -> "Attributes" -> "Manage Attributes".
- Click on your attribute.
- Choose its Sello counterpart in the list at the bottom.
- Click either: "Save Attribute" or "Save and Continue Edit".
Good to know:
- The first time you edit a product, it will be created in Sello.
