In this guide we will show you how to create a test order for a specific marketplace (in this example we will create a Zalando DE order).
Why you would want to create a test order is to test the order connection back to your webshop system, ERP-system or WMS-system to see that the orders are getting transfered over correctly and created correctly in your system.
It is also necessary when needing to create delivery documents for Zalando when setup to manage logistics from your own warehouse (not ZFS). Zalando usually ask you to upload the documents when registering with Zalando and fulfilling your brand readiness with Zalando.
One thing which is important to think about when creating a test order is the order status you create your order on. The order status is a crucial aspect of order management in Sello. All new orders which is imported to Sello from a marketplace are usually created on the status "Paid" which will trigger a push to create this order in your webshop system / ERP or WMS (the Connectors you have added to Sello).
In this guide we want to create a delivery note for Zalando and I do not want to push this order to my webshop system (Connector), there for I will create the order on status "Awaiting payment" - This is a status which Sello uses for all unpaid order which is waiting a payment. Sello will not create these orders in your webshop system (Connector).
Here's how:
- Log into Sello
- Navigate to Orders
- Click Actions
- Choose Create order
- Fill in the Customer information
- Fill in the Contact information
- Choose order status under Details (default is Paid)
- Choose currency under Details
- Choose the marketplace & market to create the test order on under Test Order
- Click Add order row
- Search for a product to add (select the field to search on)
- Set the sale price under Price/each
- Click Create
You can add additional data about the order under the menu Advanced like set the marketplace order number or add meta information on the order like ZalandoAddressType etc.
